With the continuous evolution of the social structure and the continuous diversification of the value system, high school ideological and political education is facing many new challenges and transformation pressures. Against this background, how to effectively respond to the changes of the times and improve the effectiveness of education has become a core issue that needs urgent attention in current educational research and practice. As a core component of China’s excellent traditional culture, Confucian culture has an important educational guidance function and practical guiding significance for its profound ethical and ideological system and unique social values. Therefore, colleges and universities should fully explore and utilise the intrinsic value of the excellent Confucian culture, and use it as an important tool to guide students’ thoughts and behaviours, so as to better achieve the goal of high school ideological and political education. Starting from the basic connotation and function of Confucian excellent traditional culture, this article deeply analyses the necessity of integrating Confucian excellent traditional culture into high school ideological and political education, and combines the current situation of education, and puts forward a strategy for integrating excellent Confucian culture into high school ideological and political education, which provides a theoretical basis for the future reform of ideological and political education.
