Internet buzzwords reflect the dynamic adaptability of language itself, and carry the multiple functions of individual social mentality, mass identity and mass communication. Recently, the Internet buzzword “Bao De” has swept the online platform, causing a large number of netizens to use it. This article will analyze from the four aspects of semantics, grammatical characteristics, pragmatic functions and flow factors, and explore the generation phenomenon of “Bao De” of online buzzwords through the collection and analysis of corpus, in order to better grasp the motives for the formation and development of Internet buzzwords.
