The cultivation of innovative talents in higher education institutions is a crucial pathway for driving social progress and economic development. This paper explores the pivotal role of universities in nurturing innovative talents in mathematics, analyzing existing issues in the current cultivation models from perspectives such as faculty quality, curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and the construction of practical platforms.
