生态翻译学视角下纪录片《万象中国》字幕的英译策略研究
A Study of English Translation Strategies for Subtitles in the Documentary “Chinese Bouquet” from the Perspective of Eco-Translatology

纪录片对于传播文化具有重要作用，而字幕翻译是影响其传播效果的关键环节。在纪录片的字幕翻译中，译者需要深入分析源语和译语生态环境中可能对翻译产生制约的因素，采取相应的翻译策略，以确保译文在保留源语文化特色的同时，能够更好地适应译语文化背景和受众需求。本文以纪录片《万象中国》为例，探讨译者如何在生态翻译学理论的指导下，运用“三维转换”的方法，在语言维、文化维和交际维三个维度上进行适应性选择转换。通过分析译者在不同维度上的具体操作，本文揭示了如何在翻译过程中实现信息的有效传递和文化传播的功能，为纪录片的字幕翻译提供了理论支持和实践参考。
Documentaries play a crucial role in cultural dissemination, and subtitle translation is a key factor in determining their transmission effectiveness. In the translation of documentary subtitles, translators need to carefully analyze the various factors in the source and target language ecological environments that may constrain the translation process. Based on this analysis, they adopt appropriate translation strategies to ensure that the subtitles retain the cultural characteristics of the source language while adapting to the cultural background and audience needs of the target language. This article takes the documentary China in All Directions as an example to explore how translators, under the guidance of ecological translation theory, employ the “three-dimensional adaptive transformation” method to make adaptive choices and transformations in the language, culture, and communication dimensions. By analyzing the translators’ specific practices in these dimensions, this study reveals how effective information transmission and cultural communication can be achieved in the translation process. It provides theoretical guidance and practical strategies for the translation of documentary subtitles, contributing to the smooth progress of cross-cultural communication.
