《庄子》任博克英译本中副文本对哲学术语的阐释研究
Study on the Interpretation of Philosophical Terminology in the Subtexts in Brook Ziporyn’s English Translation of Zhuangzi

通过详细分析译本中的前言、脚注、译者评注摘录、术语库等副文本，本研究揭示了译者如何运用这些辅助文本，帮助目标读者理解庄子哲学的复杂思想体系。任博克在保留庄子原文哲学术语的同时，通过多层次的批判性注释，深入剖析术语在不同语境下的含义，提供多视角的哲学评析，并构建出相关的历史文化背景，以便读者能够在更宽广的框架下理解文本的多重含义和微妙之处。研究表明，副文本在英译本《庄子》中起到了重要的桥梁作用，不仅帮助西方读者更好地接受道家思想，还丰富了他们的理解深度，并在一定程度上促进了中国经典哲学在国际视野中的传播与交流。
By analyzing in detail the paratexts in the translation, such as the preface, footnotes, excerpts from the translator’s commentary, and the thesaurus, this study reveals how the translator employs these paratexts in order to help the target readers understand the complex system of ideas of Zhuangzi’s philosophy. While retaining the philosophical terminology of the original Zhuangzi text, Ziporyn provides an in-depth analysis of the meanings of the terms in different contexts through multi-level critical annotations, offers philosophical commentaries from multiple perspectives, and constructs relevant historical and cultural backgrounds, so that readers are able to comprehend the multiple meanings and subtleties of the text in a broader framework. The study shows that the paratext plays an important bridging role in the English translation of Zhuangzi, which not only helps Western readers to better accept Taoist thought, but also enriches the depth of their understanding, and to a certain extent, facilitates the dissemination and exchange of classic Chinese philosophy in the international perspective.
