从纽马克翻译理论视角下分析我国的诗词的翻译
|
Abstract:
As a treasure of the Chinese nation, poetry is beloved by people both at home and abroad. It is highly appreciated for its rich emotions and profound artistic conception, which have attracted many scholars from different countries. Therefore, throughout history, scholars have engaged in the English translation of Chinese poetry. Analyzing the translation of Chinese poetry from the perspective of Newmark’s translation theory reveals the balance and challenges between semantic translation and communicative translation. Chinese poetry is renowned for its unique linguistic form, cultural imagery, and emotional expression. When translating, it is necessary to retain the original poem’s artistic conception and cultural characteristics while ensuring the comprehensibility and artistic quality of the translation in the target language. The linguistic features of ancient Chinese poetry, such as rhythm, antithesis, and imagery, are both profound and vivid, making the translation process quite challenging.
