多模态话语分析理论视角下英文纪录片《近观》的文化价值建构研究
A Study of the Construction of Cultural Values in the English Documentary Ancient Adage-Timeless Wisdom from the Perspective of Multimodal Discourse Analysis Theory

《近观》是由新华社推出、国家文物局和中国国家图书馆指导的十集英文纪录片。本研究以多模态话语分析理论为框架，探讨其文化价值的建构。研究从语境、内容、表达和文化四个层面展开，通过定性和定量相结合的方法，揭示了纪录片的多模态特征。研究发现，《近观》通过古语线索、场景转换和视听模态的协同作用，成功构建了深邃的文化价值立意，实现了文化形象的可视化呈现，为跨文化传播和纪录片创作提供了新的思路和参考，为促进中华文化“自塑”提供了良好的借鉴。
Ancient Adage-Timeless Wisdom is a ten-episode English documentary produced by Xinhua News Agency, under the guidance of the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the National Library of China. This study explores the construction of cultural values of the documentary within the framework of multimodal discourse analysis theory. The research unfolds across four dimensions: context, content, expression, and culture, employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to reveal the documentary’s multimodal features. It is found that Ancient Adage-Timeless Wisdom successfully constructs profound cultural values through the interplay of ancient language cues, scene transitions, and audiovisual modalities, achieving a visual representation of cultural imagery. It provides new ideas and references for cross-cultural communication and documentary production, offering valuable insights for promoting the “self-shaping” of Chinese culture.
