Abstract:

有关阳明四句教“无善无恶心之体”一句,学界较为主流的解读有“至善说”和“无滞说”两种,近年来还出现“隐默说”的解读方式。其中,单“至善说”内部就有“至善无恶”“善之根源”等多种不同的解释。上述解读虽能自圆其说,但仍有其理论漏洞。“无善无恶”想要表明的是“心之体”内部没有任何对待可言,故“至善”应理解为“绝对完满”,谓心之体超乎具体的善恶观念乃至一切对待,将所有对待包含于自身,达到一种“心中本具万物之理”的完满状态。
Regarding the phrase “The essence of the mind is beyond good and evil” from Wang Yangming’s Four-Sentence Teaching, the academic community has predominantly adopted two interpretations: the “Supreme Good Theory” and the “Non-Attachment Theory.” In recent years, a new interpretation known as the “Tacit Theory” has also emerged. Within the “Supreme Good Theory” alone, there are various explanations such as “the supreme good is without evil” and “the root of goodness.” Although these interpretations can justify themselves, they still contain theoretical loopholes. What “beyond good and evil” aims to convey is that within the “essence of the mind,” there is no duality to speak of. Therefore, “supreme good” should be understood as “absolute perfection,” meaning that the essence of the mind transcends specific notions of good and evil, and indeed all dualities, encompassing all dualities within itself, achieving a state of perfection where “the mind inherently contains the principles of all things.”
