多模态话语分析视角下电影《宇宙探索编辑部》的字幕翻译研究
Study on the Subtitle Translation of Journey to the West from the Perspective of Multimodal Discourse Analysis

电影是一种重要的文化载体，对跨文化传播具有深远的影响。在中国电影走上世界舞台的过程中，高质量的字幕翻译功不可没。兴起于20世纪90年代的多模态话语分析理论，为字幕翻译研究领域开辟了一个全新的理论视角。本研究基于张德禄的多模态话语分析综合框架，从文化、语境、内容以及表达四个维度，选取国产科幻喜剧电影《宇宙探索编辑部》中典型片段的字幕翻译进行深入剖析。研究发现，该影片的字幕翻译在文化、语境、内容以及表达四个层面上，主要采取了归化的翻译策略，并且广泛运用了省译、意译和增译等翻译方法。然而，在实际应用的过程中，以上翻译策略和方法有时会导致字幕中文化内涵的流失，进而削弱影片的字幕翻译在跨文化传播中的影响。本研究旨在为电影字幕翻译工作者提供一些建议，发现字幕翻译中可能存在的同类问题，进而提升翻译的质量和跨文化交际的效果。
Film is an important cultural carrier, which has a far-reaching impact on cross-cultural communication. In the process of Chinese films entering the world stage, high-quality subtitle translation plays a critical role. Multimodal discourse analysis, which emerged in the 1990s, has provided an absolutely new theoretical perspective for studies on subtitle translation. Based on the synthetic framework of multimodal discourse analysis, proposed by Delu Zhang, this study conducts an in-depth analysis of subtitle translation of typical fragments in Journey to the West, which is a domestic science fiction comedy film, from four dimensions of culture, context, content and expression. This study found that the subtitle translation of this film mainly tends to use the translation strategy of domestication in the four dimensions of culture, context, content and expression, and frequently applies some translation methods, such as omission, free translation and amplification. However, the application of these translation strategies and methods leads to the loss of cultural connotation in subtitles in some cases, thus weakening the influence of subtitle translation in cross-cultural communication. This study aims to provide some suggestions for film subtitle translators and find similar problems that may exist in subtitle translation, so as to improve the quality of subtitle translation and the effect of cross-cultural communication.
