中国古装剧中的皇家用语泰语翻译研究——以《长安诺》为例
|
Abstract:
In recent years, Chinese costume dramas have captivated audiences in Thailand, presenting a complex puzzle for cross-cultural translation. This meticulously conducted study, which analyzes the Thai subtitles of “The Promise of Chang’an”, offers a comprehensive exploration of the handling of royal words in cross-cultural subtitle translation. The focus is on maintaining linguistic accuracy while meeting the conciseness requirements of subtitles. Through rigorous textual analysis and comparative study methods, we dissect the royal word in “The Promise of Chang’an” and compare it with the Thai translation. The results reveal a nuanced approach: translators adhere to Thai royal word rules in some cases while flexibly adapting to the constraints of subtitles in others. These findings, arrived at through a thorough research process, lead to recommendations that can simplify long sentences, accurately use hierarchical language, maximize royal words, and establish a glossary of terms. These recommendations can significantly enhance subtitle readability and viewer engagement while faithfully conveying the original text’s emotions and intentions.
