The Non-Realism and “Ekphrasis” in Gogol’s Works: A Dialogue between Literature and Painting

果戈理一直以来被视作俄罗斯现实主义文学的奠基者，但其作品中的非现实主义特质同样不容忽视。而且，绘画艺术与其创作的关系尚缺乏系统探讨，本研究深入分析了绘画艺术在果戈理文学创作中的运用及其影响，特别关注了他如何将视觉形象转化为语言形象，以及他在模糊绘画与诗歌界限方面的尝试。研究发现，果戈理的艺术语言与绘画艺术创作原则存在诸多相似之处，他巧妙地将绘画元素融入文学创作，通过直观与隐含的语象叙事，使文学作品呈现出独特的视觉美感和艺术张力。
Gogol has long been regarded as the founder of Russian realist literature, but the non-realist qualities of his works should not be overlooked. Moreover, the relationship between the art of painting and its creation has not yet been systematically explored. This study analyses in depth the use of the art of painting in Gogol’s literary creation and its influence, with a special focus on how he transformed visual images into verbal images and his attempts to blur the boundaries between painting and poetry. It is found that there are many similarities between Gogol’s artistic language and the principles of painting art creation, and he skillfully integrates painting elements into his literary creation, so that through the intuitive and implicit narrative of language images, his literary works present a unique visual aesthetic and artistic tension.
