本文从汉斯·弗米尔提出的翻译目的论中译者翻译行为的三原则出发，分析《孙子兵法》翟林奈译本从词汇、句式以及译本与原作的风格契合三个方面来分析翟林奈的翻译行为，以探讨在当前时代背景下，现有中国文化典籍英译本的翻译过程对译者翻译实践的启示以及如何实现中国文化典籍英译真正地“走出去”。
This article analyzes the translation behavior of Lionel Giles in his English translation of The Art of War from the perspective of Hans Vermeer’s skopos theory, focusing on three principles: vocabulary, sentence structure, and the stylistic alignment between the translation and the original work. The aim is to explore how the translation process of existing English translations of Chinese cultural classics can provide insights for translators’ practices in the current era, as well as how to effectively promote the international dissemination of these works.
