文化适应视角下翻译代偿策略分析——以《三寸金莲》英译本为例
A Study on the Application of Translation Compensation Strategies from the Perspective of Acculturation—Taking the English Translation of The Three-Inch Golden Lotus as an Example

本文从文化适应视角出发，以冯骥才小说《三寸金莲》的英译本为例，探讨译者在翻译过程中采用的翻译代偿策略及其产生的文化适应效果。研究发现，译者通过省略、替代和释义策略进行文化过滤；通过概略化、淡化和归化策略克服社会、语言和宗教文化干扰；采用释义和归化策略进行文化调试。通过这些策略，译者筛选掉与译语文化冲突或难以被读者理解的内容，消除交际中的文化障碍，使译文既忠实于原文，又贴近译入语读者的阅读和表达习惯，从而促进文化间的沟通和交流，实现文化适应。揭示翻译代偿策略在促进跨文化信息交流与传递中的有效性，对于提高译文的可接受性，促进译作在全球范围内的传播与接受具有重要意义。
This study adopts a perspective of acculturation to analyze the translation compensation strategies employed in the English translation of Feng Jicai’s novel The Three-Inch Golden Lotus and their impact on cultural adaptation. The findings show that the translator uses strategies such as omission, substitution, and paraphrase for cultural filtering, while generalization, deculturation, and adaptation are employed to reduce social, linguistic and religious cultural interference. Additionally, paraphrase and adaptation are employed for cultural adaption. Through these strategies, the translator successfully screens out content conflicting with the target culture or challenging for the target readers to comprehend, and eliminates cultural barriers in cross-cultural communication, ensuring that the translation remains faithful to the original text while accommodating to the reading and expressive conventions of the target readers. As a result, the translation facilitates intercultural communication and exchange, achieving cultural adaptation. The study underscores the effectiveness of translation compensation strategies in promoting intercultural communication and exchange, which is crucial for enhancing the acceptability of translations and fostering the global dissemination and reception of translated works.
