With the vigorous development of the mobile Internet, new media has become an important platform for contemporary college students to obtain information, express themselves, and engage in social interaction, exerting a profound impact on their academic and daily life. How to correctly leverage the advantages of new media to improve mental health education for college students and enhance their psychological quality has become an important research topic for psychological education in colleges and universities. This paper discusses the difficulties in mental health education in colleges and universities under the new media environment and proposes targeted strategies.
