With the development of the times and the acceleration of urbanization, cities have become the core space of people’s lives. Traditional landscape paintings, while maintaining their unique artistic charm, are also constantly integrating new elements and themes. Among them, the integration of urban theme design has become an important direction for the innovation of contemporary landscape paintings. Contemporary urban theme landscape paintings have unique styles, conform to the aesthetic of the current era, and have unique artistic charm and cultural value, providing aesthetic significance for contemporary social development. Through in-depth discussion of urban themes in contemporary landscape paintings, this paper analyzes their development background, specific manifestations, artistic characteristics, and development prospects. This paper points out that the integration of urban themes brings new perspectives and vitality to landscape paintings, making traditional art closely integrated with modern life, and promoting the innovation of the artistic form and content design of landscape paintings.
