话语与身份建构:《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》中的非自然叙事

Abstract:
《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》(1930)是威廉·福克纳所著的美国南方哥特文学代表作之一，以非线性、多视角的方式讲述了美国南方旧贵族代表爱米莉一生的故事。本文从非自然叙事的角度出发，分析了《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》中主角爱米丽与故事叙事者身上存在的非自然性。《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》中的爱米丽并不在场，而是由一名无名叙事者诉说她的故事。通过分析《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》中对被叙述者的神秘化和叙述者的内在矛盾性等异常言语等非自然性，本文揭示了故事中的非自然性体现的爱米丽自身内部的矛盾，以及爱米丽与杰弗生镇居民之间的外部冲突，这些矛盾体现了爱米丽在身份建构过程中潜藏的反对阐释的倾向。
“A Rose for Emily” (1930) by William Faulkner is one of the masterpieces of American Southern Gothic literature. It narrates the life of Emily, a representative of the old aristocracy of the American South, in a non-linear and multi-perspective way. From the perspective of the unnatural narrative theory, this essay observes the unnatural qualities of both Emily and the narrator in “A Rose for Emily”. Emily herself is absent in the story, and her story is narrated by a nameless narrator. This essay posits that the non-conforming narrative of the mystification of Emily and the inner discrepancy of the narrator in “A Rose for Emily” reveals the conflict within Emily herself and her conflict with people in Jefferson. Emily’s tendency against interpretation is implicated in the conflicts.
