This paper closely focuses on the irreversible trend of the aging society, deeply analyzes the current pattern of the welfare service model for the elderly society, elaborates on the severe challenges it faces in resource allocation, service quality, technological innovation and other aspects, and prospectively predicts the possible development path and transformation direction in the future. In this process, this paper especially emphasizes the practice of nursing education in colleges and universities as a key force to promote the reform of social welfare services. Through detailed case analysis and extensive literature review, it not only reveals the problem of the disconnection between the existing education system and the needs of elderly nursing, but also creatively puts forward a series of improvement strategies based on the practice of nursing education in colleges and universities. These strategies aim to cultivate nursing talents with high professional quality, humanistic care and innovative ability, provide more personalized, efficient and warm services for the elderly, so as to effectively improve the quality of life of the elderly, and contribute wisdom and strength to building a more harmonious, inclusive and sustainable social welfare system.
