This article aims to explore the application and practice of sustainable development concepts in the field of furniture design. By analyzing current environmental challenges and design trends, and through practical furniture design cases, the application of sustainable design concepts in furniture design is analyzed. Firstly, this article analyzes the relevant concepts of sustainable development and furniture design, laying a theoretical foundation for subsequent research. Sub-sequently, the system elaborated on how the concept of sustainable development permeates and innovates various aspects of furniture design. Based on specific furniture cases, an analysis was conducted on the practical application of sustainable furniture design from three aspects: furniture materials, furniture functions, and furniture structures. Finally, the article summarizes the development trends and future prospects of sustainable furniture design. I believe that with the continuous improvement of people’s environmental awareness and technological progress, sustainable furniture design will become an important development direction in the furniture industry.
