As an important derivative of youth subculture, animal emoticons are not only a simple symbol system, but also a unique tool used by contemporary youth to express their inner feelings, which is a significant manifestation of subculture characteristics. Through the use of anthropomorphic tech-niques and multimodal forms with illustrations and text, these emoticons skillfully demonstrate the close connection between visual culture and social emotions, and also map out the aesthetic pre-ferences and values of the young generation. In the practical application of animal emoticons, the interpretation of their connotation often depends on the reciprocal or contrasting relationship between the text and the animal image, which deeply reflects the evolution of social culture and ideology. With the help of these emoticons, youth groups not only express their personal demands and seek emotional resonance, but they should also be alert to the potential impact that the virtual environment may have on youth psychology.
