伊丽莎白女王二世圣诞祝词的批评隐喻分析
A Study of Critical Metaphor Analysis in Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas Broadcasts

在批评隐喻分析的理论框架下，本研究分析了伊丽莎白女王二世自2017至2021五年里圣诞祝词中隐喻的类型和运作模式。研究发现这五年的圣诞祝词主要使用了光亮类隐喻、旅程类隐喻、方向类隐喻以及容器类隐喻四种隐喻类型，反映出英国女王借助人们熟知的隐喻传达“希望、责任与成长”的主题，借此鼓励人民克服苦难、积极阳光地面对生活。将英国女王的圣诞祝词作为隐喻研究的语料进行分析能够揭示隐喻在英语语言、认知与文化的运行方式，以期对英语语言与文化学习提供新的思路。
Under the theoretical framework of Critical Metaphor Analysis (CMA), this study examines the types and operational patterns of metaphors in Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas broadcasts from 2017 to 2021. Over the five-year period, the Christmas broadcasts predominantly feature journey metaphors, luminosity metaphors, entity metaphors, spatial metaphors, and container metaphors. When elucidating life philosophies, Queen Elizabeth II tended to make them more understandable by employing common metaphors. During these broadcasts, she also encouraged people to confront hard times with hope and move on positively. The analysis of Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas broadcasts provides insights into the functioning of metaphors within the English language, cognition, and culture, which may offer new perspectives for the study of the English language and culture.
