功能对等理论视角下国际海事条约长句汉译策略
Translation Strategies for Long Sentences in International Maritime Treaties into Chinese from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory

为了更好地与国际接轨，更切实地履行相关国际海事条约的规定，准确有效地将其内容进行汉译变得十分必要。在汉译海事条约时，主要问题在于英文长句难以与汉语表达习惯契合，导致晦涩难懂的翻译腔。法律从业者常因译文不通顺、不准确而不得不查阅英文原文，这无形中浪费了有限的精力和时间。目前国际海事条约长句翻译研究较少并且主要是从语序角度总结其翻译方法。本文以功能对等理论为视角，比较英汉两种语言之差异，针对海事条约中的长句进行深入研究，具体分析功能对等理论在汉译海事条约长句方面的合理应用，提出了分译法、语序调整、句子成分转换和综合法等翻译策略，以提高国际海事条约的汉译质量。
To better integrate with international standards and effectively fulfill the requirements of relevant international maritime treaties, it is essential to translate their content accurately and effectively into Chinese. A major issue in translating maritime treaties into Chinese is that long English sentences do not align well with Chinese expression habits, leading to obscure and difficult-to-understand translations. Legal practitioners often have to refer to the English original text due to the incoherence and inaccuracy of the translations, which inadvertently wastes their limited energy and time. Currently, research on translating long sentences in international maritime treaties is limited and mainly focuses on summarizing translation methods from the perspective of word order. This paper, from the perspective of functional equivalence theory, compares the differences between English and Chinese, conducts in-depth research on long sentences in maritime treaties, and specifically analyzes the reasonable application of functional equivalence theory in translating long sentences in maritime treaties into Chinese. It proposes translation strategies such as segmentation, word order adjustment, conversion of sentence components, and integrated methods to improve the quality of Chinese translations of international maritime treaties.
