Abstract:

Qualitative research and listing how therapeutic interventions are carried out to prevent intimate partner violence are considered to contribute significantly to research for greater effectiveness of therapeutic models. The therapeutic paradigm that follows demonstrates the epistemology, tools, and process followed to eradicate intimate partner violence, and is derived from the therapy of a couple experiencing intimate partner violence. The intervention was carried out with the HST model, in the context of doctoral research, in an island region of Greece. The HST, as a systemic therapy intervenes in the relationships of the system members (couple). The results showed a cessation of violence, an improvement in communication, an increase in cooperation, empathy, family functionality, etc. Also, useful conclusions were drawn for the intervention through HST at the level of epistemology and therapeutic practice.
