人性恶的再现：《蝇王》汉译本对比研究
A Comparative Study of Chinese Translations of Lord of the Flies: The Reproduction of Innate Evil

《蝇王》是英国作家威廉·戈尔丁的一篇展示人性本恶的小说。1985年的陈瑞兰译本是国内首个译本。同年，上海译文出版社出版了龚志成译本的《蝇王》。本文对比分析龚志成译本和陈瑞兰译本在语言风格、人物形象、情节处理三个方面是否在译文中再现人性恶的主题。在语言风格上，龚志成译本偏向学术化和正式化，陈瑞兰译本的简洁化更直接展现人性恶这一主题。在人物形象上，龚志成译本刻画人物鲜明，而陈瑞兰译本人物刻画层面稍微有些不立体。在情节处理上，龚志成译本更成功地渲染了紧张的氛围。总的来看，虽然龚志成译本在语言风格方面不够简洁直白表现人性恶主题，但在人物刻画和情节处理方面更为完善，所以龚志成译本更好再现人性恶这一主题。
Lord of the Flies is a novel written by the English writer William Golding that demonstrates the innate evil of human nature. The translation in 1985 by Chen Ruilan was the first in China. In the same year, Shanghai Translation Publishing House published Gong Zhicheng’s translation of Lord of the Flies. This paper compares and analyzes whether Gong Zhicheng’s translation and Chen Ruilan’s translation reproduce the theme of innate evil in the translation in three aspects: language style, characterization, and plot treatment. In terms of language style, Gong Zhicheng’s translation tends to be more academic and formalized, while Chen Ruilan’s translation is more concise and directly shows the theme of innate evil. In terms of characterization, Gong Zhicheng’s translation portrays characters vividly, while Chen Ruilan’s characterization is slightly less three-dimensional. In terms of plot treatment, Gong Zhicheng’s translation is more successful in rendering a tense atmosphere. On the whole, although Gong Zhicheng’s translation is not simple and straightforward enough to show the theme of innate evil in terms of language style, it is more perfect in characterization and plot treatment, so Gong Zhicheng’s translation is better in reproducing the theme of innate evil.
