Abstract:

In the form of review, this article discusses the intervention and treatment effect of transcranial electrical stimulation on insomnia. 3 papers about transcranial direct current stimulation and 2 papers about transcranial alternating current electrical stimulation are included. The present results show that electrical stimulation of lateral prefrontal cortex has the potential to improve sleep quality in patients with insomnia, and that alternating current stimulation may be a better option. However, due to the large differences in the number of samples, stimulation parameters and other aspects of different stimulation schemes, the results are inconsistent. On this basis, this paper discusses the limitations of existing research and proposes some suggestions.
