Abstract:

Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders, affecting about 10% of adults. As a serious public health issue, chronic insomnia not only severely impacts an individual’s physical health but also affects their work, life, and family, creating significant social burdens and even posing life-threatening risks. Moreover, insomnia is an independent risk factor for mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression. Chronic insomnia also increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. This article summarizes the current research status and treatment methods for insomnia disorders and looks ahead to future development directions, providing a basis for exploring new treatment methods.
