|
Abstract:
通过文献计量研究发现:1) 过去二十年间,二语学习和教学研究中有关二语动机的论文数量持续增加;2) 中华人民共和国、英国和日本三国发表的论文数量居世界前三;3) 被引最多的三大期刊分别为The Modern Language Journal,Language Learning以及System;4) D?rnyei Zoltán、Robert C. Gardner以及Ushioda Ema三位学者发表论文被引量居学界前三;5) 由D?rnyei和Al-Hoorie编撰的“The Motivational Foundation of Learning Languages Other than Global English: Theoretical Issues and Research Directions”为被引次数最高的出版物;6) 两大研究热点为“中国学生”和“自我效能感”。本文为未来二语动机研究提供了一定洞悉与见解。
The aim of this study is to visually analyze 421 international language motivation research papers published in the last two decades (2004~2023) using the bibliometric tool CiteSpace and to answer the following questions: 1) What is the temporal distribution of academic publications regarding second language motivation? 2) What is the geographic distribution of academic publications regarding second language motivation? 3) What are the most highly cited journals for academic publication regarding second language motivation? 4) Who are the highly cited authors in the domain of second language motivation? 5) What are the most highly cited articles published regarding second language motivation? 6) What are some of the top research hotspots regarding second language motivation? The bibliometric study revealed that 1) the number of papers on second language motivation in language learning and teaching research has increased over the last two decades; 2) the People’s Republic of China, the United Kingdom and Japan are among the top three countries in the world in terms of the number of papers published; 3) The three most frequently cited journals are The Modern Language Journal, Language Learning, and System; 4) The top three most cited scholars are D?rnyei Zoltán, Robert C. Gardner, and Ushioda Ema; 5) The most cited publication is “The Motivational Foundation of Learning Languages Other than Global English: Theoretical Issues and Research Directions” by D?rnyei and Al-Hoorie; 6) The two most popular research topics are “Chinese Students” and “Self-Efficacy”. This paper offers insights for future research on second language motivation.
