Abstract:

文学翻译是许多翻译专业学生以及译者所面临的难题,其难度不言而喻,需要长期的中英文对比翻译练习,ChatGPT拥有强大的文本生成能力,而奈达的“功能对等理论”在文学翻译中的应用具有一定的可行性。本文以ChatGPT模型为工具,通过对其输入大量如“张培基”等汉译英文学翻译大家的汉英对照文本,让其快速总结其翻译特点和风格。ChatGPT识别名家翻译风格后,提供持续的翻译润色和评估服务,并将学生与名家的翻译文本进行对比,提供贴合度反馈,以及使用语法检验软件易改(1Checker)检测语法用词等错误,并且根据功能对等理论的评价标准检验ChatGPT翻译文本的可读性,通过这种方法有利于塑造学生中意的翻译风格,提高学习效率,节约练习文学翻译的时间,提供有针对性的指导以及快速巩固文学翻译的基础。
Literary translation poses a significant challenge for many students and professional translators, requiring extensive practice in Chinese-English comparative translation. ChatGPT, with its powerful text generation capabilities, can be utilized as a tool in conjunction with Nida’s “Functional Equivalence Theory,” offering a feasible approach to literary translation. This paper employs the ChatGPT model to rapidly analyze the translation characteristics and styles of renowned literary translators by inputting numerous Chinese-English texts translated by those translators, such as those involving figures like “张培基” (Zhang Peiji). After recognizing the translation style of the renowned translator, ChatGPT provides continuous translation polishing and evaluation services. It compares students’ translation text with those of the renowned translator, offering feedback on similarity of renowned translator’s translation. Additionally, it uses grammar-checking software like 1Checker to detect grammatical and lexical errors. Based on the evaluation criteria of functional equivalence theory, ChatGPT assesses the readability of the translations. This approach helps shape students’ preferred translation styles, improves learning efficiency, saves time in practicing literary translation, provides targeted guidance, and quickly consolidates the foundation of literary translation.
