Abstract:

Purpose: Based on the individual environment model, this article explores the relationship between parental cohesion, psychological adaptability, and grit among middle school students. The aim is to improve their psychological adaptability from the perspective of positive psychology and promote the healthy development of their psychological, learning, and social functions. Method: A total of 455 middle school students from a certain high school were selected as the survey subjects. The parental cohesion scale, 12-item grit scale, and psychological adaptability scale were used to measure and conduct statistical analysis. Result: The parental cohesion, psychological adaptation ability, and grit level of junior high school students all decrease with the increase of grade, and the level of parent-child fit is significantly positively correlated with psychological adaptation, and also significantly positively correlated with resilience level. The parental cohesion level is significantly positively correlated with psychological adaptation. Grit plays a partial mediating role between parental cohesion and psychological adaptation ability in middle school students, with a mediating effect accounting for 32.86% of the total effect. Conclusion: Parental cohesion not only directly affects the psychological adaptability of middle school students, but also indirectly affects their grit. Therefore, the cultivation of good parent-child relationships, family atmosphere, and grit among junior high school students can promote the development of their psychological adaptability and promote the healthy growth of adolescents.
