容闳的救国实践及其推动中西文化交流的启示探究

Abstract:
洋务运动打开了近代落后中国学习西方的大门,选派幼童留学又是其中重要的一环,为当时在落后环境中挣扎的中国提供了近现代人才的支撑。容闳便是选派幼童公费留学的推动人和促成者之一。生在东洋,学在西洋的容闳,具备了横跨中西文化,成为二者文化交流使者的条件。从东方视角来说,容闳归国后的实践经历进一步促进了西学东渐,推动了洋务运动的发展;从西方视角来说,他留学后的举动也推动了东学西渐的进程,一定程度上传播了中华优秀传统文化。在当今时代,西学东渐和东学西渐都浓缩成了文化交流与融合。在这样的交流和融合中,我们又能从中汲取对待国内外文化的基本态度和丰富经验。对外我们既要保持开放包容的心态去对待世界文化,对内也要牢固树立自身的文化自信,内外兼修并蓄,实现文化的百花齐放。
The Westernization Movement opened the door for modern backward China to learn from the West. The selection of young children to study abroad was an important part of it, which provided the support of modern talents for China, which was struggling in the backward environment at that time. Rong Hong is one of the promoters and facilitators of the selection of young children to study at public expense. Born in the East and studied in the West, Rong Hong has the conditions to cross the Chinese and Western cultures and become the envoy of cultural exchanges between the two. From the eastern perspective, Rong Hong’s practical experience after his return further promoted the eastward spread of Western learning and promoted the development of the Westernization Movement; from the perspective of the West, his actions after studying abroad also promoted the process of the spread of Eastern learning to the West, and spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture to a certain extent. In today’s era, the eastward spread of western learning and the westward spread of eastern learning have been condensed into cultural exchanges and integration. In such exchanges and integration, we can learn from the basic attitude and rich experience of treating domestic and foreign cultures. Externally, we must maintain an open and inclusive attitude towards world culture, and internally, we must firmly establish our own cultural self-confidence, both internally and externally, and realize the flourishing of culture.
