Through reading the book “History and Class Consciousness”, we can see that Lukacs comprehensively and systematically expounded his historical dialectical thinking from three levels: totality, materialization theory, and class consciousness. At the same time, he reformed and refuted Hegel’s historical dialectics, and attempted to achieve a thorough transformation of Hegel’s natural dialectics. Lukacs’ research on dialectics basically inherited Marx’s ideas and to a certain extent promoted the enrichment and development of Marxism. On the basis of analyzing Lukacs’ three major theories, this article will delve into Lukacs’ Marxist historical dialectics, which has important enlightening effects on our understanding and development of Marxism in today’s era.
