大学生汉译英句法复杂度研究——以某高校为例

Abstract:

本研究以英语专业和非英语专业大学三年级学生的汉英译文为语料,借助Lu开发的二语句法复杂度分析器(L2SCA),旨在考察大学生汉英译文句法复杂度的发展现状与英语专业和非英语专业汉英译文句法复杂度是否存在差异特征及其原因。结果表明,除了平均句长以及每个句子中的子句数量两项指标值,相较于非英专生,英专生的各项均值都更接近参考译文的数值。14个句法指标中只有平均子句长度、并列句比率(即每个句子中的T单位数量)和每个句子中的子句数量3个指标存在显著性差异。本研究通过对英语专业和非英语专业大学生进行对比分析,可以揭示出不同专业学生在汉英翻译句法复杂度上的差异性特征。这有助于更好地理解不同专业学生在翻译实践中所面临的挑战,为教学提供更具有针对性的策略。
In this study, the Chinese-English translation of junior college students majoring in English and non-English majors is used as corpus, and the L2 Syntactic Complexity Analyzer (L2SCA) developed by Lu is used. This study aims to investigate the development of syntactic complexity in Chinese-English translation of college students and whether there are differences in syntactic complexity between English majors and non-English majors in Chinese-English translation and its causes. The results show that, except for the MLS and C/S, the average values of each indicator of English majors are closer to the values of the reference translations than those of non-English majors. Among the 14 syntactic indicators, only the MLC, T/S (that is, the number of T units in each sentence) and C/S have significant differences. This study compares and analyzes English major and non-English major college students, revealing differences in syntactic complexity in Chinese-English translation among students of different majors. It aims to better understand the challenges encountered by students from different majors in translation practice and provide more targeted recommendations for translation teaching.
