“讲好中国故事”背景下大学英语课堂的文化导入研究

Abstract:
本研究调查了全国高校学生用英语讲述中国故事的能力,及其对大学英语课堂中国文化导入现状的态度和评价。研究结果表明:(1) 高校学生对中国文化,尤其是艺术文化和红色文化了解欠缺,相关词汇储备不足,翻译能力和语篇产出能力有待加强;(2) 高校学生普遍认同英语讲述中国故事能力培养的必要性,对大学英语课堂中国文化导入持有积极的态度;(3) 高校学生认为,大学英语教材及课堂教学所涵盖的中国文化内容质量较好,但数量不足,教师虽然采用数字化教学设计,但对学生用英语“讲好中国故事”能力的实训较少。最后,本文就提升大学生用英语“讲好中国故事”能力和“讲好中国故事”的英语课堂教学效果提出一定的建议。
This study investigated the ability of college students across the country to tell China’s stories in English and their attitudes and evaluations towards the current status of introducing Chinese culture into college English classrooms. The research findings indicate that: (1) college students lack understanding of Chinese culture, especially artistic culture and red culture, and have insufficient vocabulary reserves related to these topics. Their translation abilities and textual output capabilities need to be strengthened; (2) college students generally agree on the necessity of cultivating the ability to tell China’s stories in English and hold a positive attitude towards the introduction of Chinese culture into college English classrooms; (3) college students believe that the quality of Chinese culture content covered in college English textbooks and classroom teaching is good, but the quantity is insufficient. Although teachers adopt digital teaching designs, there is a lack of practical training for students to improve their ability to “tell good China’s stories” in English. Finally, this paper proposes certain suggestions for enhancing college students’ ability to “telling good China’s stories” in English and improving the effectiveness of English classroom teaching in “telling good China’s stories”.
