Abstract:

教材中的性别意识形态深刻影响着学生的价值观形成和社会化过程,目前,对教材中性别意识形态的研究大多集中于中小学阶段,对高等教育关注较少,特别是英语专业教材语篇中的性别表征研究呈现空白状态。本文结合及物性理论,运用量化分析的方法对英语专业教材课后练习中的例句进行实例分析,旨在探究新时代背景下英语专业教材中所呈现的性别意识形态。研究结果表明,目标教材的课后练习中对男性人物的刻画多于女性以及存在男性英雄形象。此外,许多句子都体现了对传统性别偏见和刻板印象的摒弃,如女性展现出头脑灵活、知识渊博积极上进的形象,而男性呈现出心思细腻、容易被感动的形象。
Gender ideology in textbooks plays a significant role in students’ value formation and their gender socialization. Most studies on gender ideology in textbooks focus on primary and secondary schools, with little attention paid to higher education and English major textbooks in particular. Under the transitivity theory, this paper applies the quantitative analysis method for the exercise part in a textbook for English majors, aiming to explore the gender ideology in the material under the background of a new era. The results show an overrepresentation of male characters and male heroism in the targeted textbook. However, many of the sentences reflect the rejection of traditional gender prejudices and stereotypes, such as the image of women as nimble, knowledgeable and motivated, and the image of men as sensitive and easily moved.
