With the deepening of globalization, the communication and integration between different cultures are becoming more and more frequent. Urban landscape design, as a comprehensive field of art and technology, is influenced by both Chinese and western traditional cultures. There are significant differences between Chinese and Western cultures in art, philosophy, aesthetic concepts, etc. These differences directly affect the creative ideas and styles of urban landscape design. Therefore, the in-depth study of the influence of Chinese and Western art culture on urban landscape design is helpful to understand the fundamental differences and provide beneficial enlightenment for the innovation of urban landscape design in China. Based on the comparison of Chinese and western traditional culture, this paper focuses on the profound influence of these two cultures on urban landscape design. By analyzing the similarities and differences between China and the west in cultural background, value concept and aesthetic concept, this paper reveals the differences in creative thinking, creative concept, creative method and style between China and the west in environmental art design. In particular, it emphasizes the important influence of cultural differences between China and the west on urban landscape design, aiming at providing a new perspective and inspiration for the development of urban landscape design in China.
