Abstract:

崇真、向善、寻美、求雅是曹文轩在语言风格上一以贯之的文学追求,从美学视角来看,《青铜葵花》的原文语言地道生动,兼具乡土特色与诗性,能够满足儿童读者的审美需要,因此可以视作翻译的审美客体。本文拟以刘宓庆的审美再现翻译理论为指导,从翻译审美客体审美构成的形式系统出发,重点考察汪海岚《青铜葵花》英译版语音、词汇、句法三个层面,分析其审美再现的得与失,以期从美学视角为中文儿童文学外译提供一定的借鉴和思考。
Truth, kindness, and beauty have been Cao Wenxuan’s consistent literary pursuit in language style. From an aesthetic standpoint, the original language of Bronze and Sunflower is authentic and vivid, encompassing both local features and poetic elements that cater to the aesthetic needs of child readers. As such, it can be regarded as an object of aesthetic translation. Guided by Liu Miqing’s theory of aesthetic representation in translation, this study investigates the phonetic, lexical, and syntactic aspects of Wang Hailan’s English translation of Bronze and Sunflower, analyzing the successes and limitations of its aesthetic representation, with an aim to provide insights for the translation of Chinese children's literature from an aesthetic perspective.
