Abstract:

Stress is widely recognized as a potential trigger of memory change, with both favorable and unfa-vorable effects on memory. The aim of this review paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current understanding of stress-induced memory changes, focusing on the mechanisms by which stress affects memory formation, consolidation, retrieval and forgetting. In addition to this, the paper discusses the implications of these findings for interventions aimed at improving memory performance in stressed individuals.
