Abstract:

在当今全球化趋势下,英语是学术交流的主要语言,英语能力成为研究生的必备技能之一。然而,由于语言障碍和知识结构等问题,许多非英语专业研究生在英语读写方面存在一定的困难。为此,研究旨在通过教学行动研究的方式探索借助AI智能工具提升理工类专业研究生英语论文读写能力的可行性以及应用效果。研究结果表明,借助AI智能工具不仅可以帮助理工类专业研究生提高学术英语阅读水平,而且可以有效解决他们面临的语法用词问题,更好地调整论文的结构以及生成可用的语句和语篇框架,提高其写作能力和写作质量。希望本研究能够为国内高校理工类专业研究生英语读写能力教学的提升提供一定的参考和借鉴。
The advent of globalization has propelled English to the forefront as a primary means of academic communication. Therefore, English proficiency is one of the necessary skills for postgraduate students. However, due to language and knowledge barriers, many non-English major postgraduate students have some difficulties in English reading and writing. Therefore, this action research aims to explore the feasibility of using AI-powered tools to improve STEM postgraduate students’ English reading and writing skills. The research findings show that the use of AI-powered tools can not only help STEM postgraduate students improve their academic English reading, but also refine their writing skills by effectively solving grammar and vocabulary problems, better adjusting the paper structure and generating useful sentences and discourse frameworks. The author hopes this study could provide some recommendations for improving the English teaching of STEM postgraduate students at Chinese universities.
