The Change of the Style of Study during the Han Dynasty

两汉之际是学风转变的关键时期。在治学方式上，学者们由重口说转变为重文本；从治学内容上，知识分子们从专守一经转变为博览兼通；从治学态度上，从之前的浮华僵化到东汉初年的严谨求实“风俗为之一变。”一方面，统治者和豪强地主的利益具有一定的导向作用，而在另一方面，文献典籍的不断完善导致了经学传授方式的转变也对学风转变产生了深刻的影响。在这种学风的引导下，以校勘、训诂等为主的文字学发展迅速，也出现了数经兼采的“通儒”，打破了学术间固有的门户之见。
The period of the Han Dynasty is the key period of the change of the style of study. In the way of study, scholars have changed their emphasis from words to texts. From the content of academic research, intellectuals have changed from a single-minded to a well-read; from the attitude of academic research, from the previous grandiose rigidity to the early Eastern Han Dynasty rigorous realistic “custom is one of the changes.” On the one hand, the interests of the rulers and the powerful landlords had a certain guiding role, and on the other hand, the continuous improvement of the literature and classics led to the change of the teaching mode of Confucian classics and also had a profound impact on the change of the style of study. Under the guidance of this style of study, the study of philology based on the collation, exegesis and so on developed rapidly, and there also appeared a number of classics and the use of “Tongru”, breaking the inherent academic family opinion.
