文化语境视角下《喜福会》的概念隐喻研究
A Study on Conceptual Metaphors in The Joy Luck Club from the Perspective of Cultural Context

作为美国华裔女作家谭恩美长篇小说的代表作，《喜福会》中蕴含了大量含有中国元素的隐喻性表达，它们承载了中华传统文化并反映了重要的文化价值。本文以概念隐喻理论为指导，结合文化语境，分析这些隐喻的源域和目标域、探寻其经验基础及文化内涵。研究发现：《喜福会》中体现中国传统文化元素的隐喻主要包含四大类：1) 人是五行；2) 人是动物；3) 母爱是吃食；4) 人生就是打麻将。小说中，这些富有中国元素的隐喻不仅使读者们对中华文化有了更加深刻的理解，同时也体现出作者谭恩美自己内心深处对于中国本土文化身份的认同。
As a masterpiece of Chinese-American woman writer Amy Tan’s long novels, The Joy Luck Club con-tains a large number of metaphorical expressions with Chinese elements, bearing traditional Chi-nese culture and reflecting important cultural values. Under the guidance of conceptual metaphor theory, this thesis analyzes the source and target domains of theses metaphors, further exploring the empirical basis and cultural connotations in the cultural context. This study illustrates that there are four major conceptual metaphors containing Chinese cultural elements: 1) People are the five elements; 2) People are animals; 3) Maternal love is food; 4) Life is mahjong playing. In the novel, these metaphors, rich in Chinese elements, not only give readers a deeper understanding of Chinese traditional culture, but also reflect the author Amy Tan’s deep-rooted Chinese native cul-tural identity.
