基于语料库的《红楼梦》“红”系颜色翻译研究——以杨译本、霍译本为例
A Corpus-Based Study on the Translation of “Red” Series Colors in A Dream of Red Mansions—Taking Two Translation Versions by Yang Hsien-Yi and David Hawkes as Examples

红色在中国传统文化中具有吉祥、喜庆、富贵及热闹等象征意义。《红楼梦》作为中国古典文学的集大成者，书中也运用了大量的“红”系颜色。本研究运用语料库语言学的方法，统计《红楼梦》中与“红”系颜色有关的词语出现的频率，并从服饰、诗词、书名、地名四个方面对杨译本与霍译本中“红”系颜色的英译进行研究。研究发现译者的文化观与所处的社会文化环境会对译者的翻译观产生一定的影响。译者在翻译过程中需充分考虑到源语言与目标语言之间的文化差异。
Red has symbolic meanings such as auspiciousness, festivity, wealth, and liveliness in traditional Chinese culture. As a masterpiece of Chinese classical literature, A Dream of Red Mansions also uses a large number of “red” series colors in the book. This study uses the method of corpus linguistics to count the frequency of the words related to the “red” color in A Dream of Red Mansions, and studies the English translation of the “red” series color in translation versions by Yang Hsien-Yi and David Hawkes from four aspects: clothing, poetry, book names, and place names. The study has found that translators’ cultural perspective and the environment of society and culture have a certain impact on their translation perspective. Translators need to fully consider the cultural differences between the source language and the target language during the translation process.
