语篇衔接视域下《防海新论》翻译考察
On the Translation of A Treatise on Coast Defence from the Perspective of Discourse Cohesion

德国人希理哈的《防海新论》是近代输入中国的重要外国军事理论著作。该书的译介为晚清国防战略转变与战略防御的具体实施提供了重要参考，对于晚清国防的近代化建设有着直接的推动作用，但迄今为止尚未有学者研究《防海新论》的翻译情况。本文以《防海新论》的英汉语篇为材料，从系统功能语言学的衔接理论视角出发，分析翻译过程中译者对语篇衔接手段的翻译处理，考察译文的翻译质量，发现《防海新论》中衔接手段的翻译对译文的质量及译作的社会价值有着一定的影响。
A Treatise on Coast Defence by the German Von Sheliha is an important foreign military theory work imported into China in modern times. The translation and introduction of it provided an important reference for the transformation of national defense strategy and the implementation of strategic defense in the late Qing Dynasty, promoting its modernization of national defense. However, so far, no scholar has studied the translation of it. Based on the source and target texts of A Treatise on Coast Defence, this article analyzed the translator’s translation processing of textual cohesive means in the translation process from the perspective of the cohesion theory of systemic functional linguistics, examined the translation quality of it, and found that the translation of cohesive means in it has a certain impact on the quality of the translation and the social value of the book.
