This paper systematically analyzes the current situation and existing difficulties of physical edu-cation teaching management in colleges and universities, and discusses the corresponding solutions. As an important part of educational activities, physical education teaching in colleges and universities has always been an important topic in the reform of college education for its man-agement and development. However, we found that there are some problems in the management of physical education in colleges and universities, such as imperfect management mechanism, in-sufficient teachers, insufficient sports venues, insufficient teaching resources, etc. These problems lead to the level of physical education teaching in colleges and universities to be improved. Aiming at these problems, this paper puts forward some feasible solutions. First of all, we should improve the management system of physical education in colleges and universities, and establish a scientific and reasonable management system. Secondly, we should strengthen the construction of physical education teachers in colleges and universities and improve the teaching level of teachers. At the same time, the construction of sports venues should be strengthened to improve the environmental conditions for students to exercise. We should also actively carry out campus basketball education activities to improve students’ basketball skills. In short, the plight of physical education management in colleges and universities needs to be paid attention to and improved. Only with the joint efforts of all teachers and students in colleges and all sectors of society can the healthy development of physical education teaching management in colleges and universities be realized.
