Abstract:

As one of the four skills in language learning and teaching, listening has been the one that is being poorly dealt with the most in our classrooms as well as in our course books. In this essay, I will demonstrate certain techniques when teaching students how to listen to presentations or lectures. These techniques are important in real-life situations where English is used for academic purposes and also helpful for TOEFL test preparation.
