The Economic and Diplomatic Origins between Japan and South Africa

本文通过以20世纪初日本与南非的接触为起点，研究日本与南非最初的交往过程，总结双方的利益契合点、初期发展成果，剖析日本处理对南非外交的原则和出发点，将日南关系置于日本外交的大框架下进行考察，通过回顾关于日本外交的学术研究来检视两国关系的缘起。
Based on the contact between Japan and South Africa at the beginning of the 20th century, this article studies the initial communication process between Japan and South Africa, summarizes the interests of the two sides and the initial development results, analyzes principles and starting points of Japan’s handling of diplomacy towards South Africa, and examines the relationship between Japan and South Africa within the framework of Japan’s diplomacy, and the origin of the relationship between the two countries is examined by reviewing the academic research on Japanese diplomacy.
