柏拉图的正义观在西方哲学史上非常重要，柏拉图将正义观从苏格拉底的德性修养转移到国家正义与公民个人正义上来。他从国家和公民个体相互依存这一角度出发，将公民个人正义与国家正义紧密联系在一起，形成的柏拉图正义观是国家正义与公民个人正义是一致的。这就是《理想国》全书想表达的柏拉图的政治理想，整本书就是对公民个人正义与国家正义是否合一、如何合一、怎样合一的描述。最终通过实现国家正义与个体正义来建立正义的美好的制度，建立正义的国家，从而让城邦人民过上幸福的快乐的生活，从而实现柏拉图的毕生追求与政治理想。

Plato transferred the view of justice from the moral cultivation of Socrates to the national justice and the individual justice of citizens.
