周策纵、罗素有关《五四运动史》通信考释
A Textual Research on Chow Tse-Tsung’s and Bertrand Russell’s Correspondence about The May Fourth Movement

周策纵在《五四运动史现代中国的知识革命》中引用了许多罗素的言论及相关材料，他在初次写作《五四运动史》和书正式出版之时都曾给罗素写信，两人在通信中就五四运动等问题进行交流。2020年出版的《周策纵论学书信集》中有罗素与周策纵的相关英文通信，但收录不全，新近发现的两封未收录集中的英文通信可以进一步完善相关史料。文章对《周策纵论学书信集》中收录的英文书信进行梳理，并介绍未刊出的通信两则，以期理清周策纵与罗素关于《五四运动史》通信的始末。
Chow Tse-Tsung quoted many of Russell’s remarks and related materials in his book The May Fourth Movement and Its Influence upon China’s Political and Social Development. He wrote letters to Russell when he first wrote the History of the May 4th Movement and when the book was officially published. They exchanged views on the May 4th Movement in their correspondences. In the Collection of Epistles on Chow Tse-Tsung published in 2020, Russell and Chow Tse-Tsung have relevant correspondences in English, but they are not completely included. The newly discovered two Eng-lish correspondences that are not included in the collection can further improve the relevant historical materials. This paper introduce the English letters included in Chow Tse-Tsung’s Epistles, and introduces two unpublished correspondence, with a view to clarifying the beginning and end of Chow Tse-Tsung’s correspondences with Russell on The History of the May 4th Movement.
