评价理论视阈下中国减贫工作报告的英译研究
A Study on the English Version of China’s Government Report on Poverty Alleviation from the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

本文以马丁(Martin)和怀特(White)的评价系统(Appraisal system)为基础，对中华人民共和国国务院新闻办公室发布的《人类减贫的中国实践》报告进行研究，通过数据分析其中英文版本中评价资源的异同。研究发现：1) 评价系统中的三个子系统，即态度、极差与介入在中英文文本中均存在；2) 在两个版本中，态度资源的数量都远远大于介入和极差；3) 两个版本中均使用了大量的积极态度资源。对政府工作报告中评价资源进行分析将有助于拓展评价系统的使用范围，同时也能加深对政府工作报告的理解，更好地传递政策话语。
This article analyses the report on poverty alleviation: China’s Experience and Contribution issued by The State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China based on the Appraisal Theory by Martin and White, attempting to find the differences and similarities of appraisal resources between English and Chinese versions through data analysis. This paper found that: 1) three subsystems of appraisal system, that is, attitude, graduation and engagement all exist in both English and Chinese versions; 2) in both versions, the number of attitude resources is much greater than that of graduation and engagement; 3) a large number of positive attitude resources are used in both versions. The analysis of appraisal resources in government work report will help to expand the scope of appraisal system, and at the same time, it can deepen the understanding of government work report and better convey policy discourse.
