Under the continuous impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the international engineering construc-tion industry is increasingly competitive, and contracting enterprises are facing double difficulties in market development and project implementation. It analyzes the industrial competition situation under the epidemic situation, and discusses the impact of the epidemic situation on the projects under construction from the aspects of difficult relocation of personnel and equipment, supply chain disruption, downtime or delay in progress, contract disputes, and substantial increase in costs. In order to reduce losses, the contracting enterprises should strengthen the research on force majeure clauses from the legal level and perform the relevant procedures, actively strive for the owner’s compensation for construction period and costs, and obtain contractual relief.
