基于社交媒体的高中生亲子互动式外语学习产品探索
|
Abstract:
Methods for foreign language learning (FLL) have traditionally been teacher-centered. Today, students can acquire vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills in a foreign language through various digital platforms. Linguistically, however, these platforms possess many drawbacks. How do prospective users ensure the accuracy of the content? How can parents ensure secondary students find curated material? There is a dearth of digital learning material that is interactive, age-appropriate, and effective. This research explores the usage of digital platforms, mainly social media, among upper secondary students and their parents for FLL, and suggestions from upper secondary students and their parents on how to improve the efficacy of social media for FLL. This paper may guide future research on social media designing suitable FLL products for secondary students. Once a product for one language is complete, other languages may follow the same construct. Social media is integral to secondary students’ lives; developing digital-savvy FLL products for students and parents is long overdue.
