Writing is recognized as a communicative act by nature. Audience awareness, as a key element influencing writing, refers to writers’ ability to think about the reader during the whole writing process according to readers’ interests, beliefs, and views, and adjust their writing so as to help the audience understand. Based on the researches on audience awareness, this passage aims to explore the factors influencing audience awareness in second language writing, which will give some implications for the further study.
